creative video interview ideas University of Nottingham - Accommodation Video

The University of Nottingham approached Fat Free Media to create and produce an informative yet eye-catching video to showcase their accommodation. The video would need to cover the varied locations and types of accommodation on offer, while also engaging an audience of prospective undergraduates in the 17-18 year age range. These objectives would need to be covered in a short duration so as to remain engaging for a youthful audience. The video would also need to be representative of The University of Nottingham brand, and reflect it’s position as a world top 1% institution.

We were really keen to capture the sights and sounds of the University campus in a new and interesting way, so we decided to film using a mixture of Point-of-View, Hyperlapse, Time-Lapse and standard filming all in one sequence. The hyperlapse technique meant we could cover huge areas in a matter of seconds without breaking the visual flow of the video. It also added a pacy and engaging dynamic to the video, and will be a style that will appeal to the target audience. Filmed over a number of days and across almost all of the university campus, we ably assisted by some great students who did the all the on-screen acting (thanks guys!). The video brought together technical knowledge and visual creativity to help create a piece that was not only informative, but also visually memorable.
